Capo Palinuro: a spectacle of rock above and below the sea

In the heart of the Cilento and Vallo Di Diano National Park, Capo Palinuro, jutting out into the sea with its extraordinary pentadactyl shape, is one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in the whole of Campania, with its rocks that fall sheer into the sea from over 50 meters. Among the thousand cracks in the rocks, above which the Capo Palinuro lighthouse stands, numerous varieties of birds nest and plants and flowers typical of the Mediterranean climate grow. But the real you
soro di Capo Palinuro is below sea level: 35 caves and submerged caves make Capo Palinuro one of the main speleomarine poles of interest in the Mediterranean. The morphological formation of the head has given rise to living species found only here, which has made Palinuro a destination for scholars from all over the world.
